Walking Towards Jerusalem is a joint blog of Ashleigh and Jeremiah Bailey, sharing their musings on the Bible, Christianity, Religion, and Religious Culture.
Ashleigh Bailey graduated with a BA from the University of North Carolina in 2008, majoring in political science and minoring in Afro-American studies. In 2010 she completed her MAT at Fuller Theological Seminary with a concentration in biblical studies and theology, and she is finishing a second MA this year through Fuller’s Family Studies program. Ashleigh is currently writing a thesis on Marcia’s ego identity statuses, religious doubt, and the college transition. She enjoys reading and blogging about religion, sociology, psychology, and education. An InterVarsity alumna, Ashleigh comes from a broad evangelical background and identifies with elements of both Baptist and Anglican theology and tradition.
Jeremiah Bailey completed his MAT from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2010 and is currently about halfway through a ThM at Duke. His research interests include biblical studies, early church history, and the Apostolic Fathers. His confessional background is Baptist (currently attending a CBF church). In addition to academic study of the Bible, he is interested in figuring out how to live out the grand vision of social justice portrayed in Luke’s masterful narrative, enjoying Belgian strong ales, and learning about life through story and song.
